Dragon Actually by G.A. Aiken

I absolutely loved this book. I got addicted to this series by first reading Dragon on Top in the anthology Supernatural. Annwyl the Bloody (I love that name it makes me smile every time I read it) and Fearghus the Destroyer meet when Annwyl is under attack by her evil brothers minions outside Fearghus's caves. One of the soldiers mortally wounds Annwyl and as she's dying Fearghus takes a liking to her and saves her life.
When she confides in the dragon that she doesn't think she has the skill to kill her brother, The Butcher of Garbhan Isle, the dragon takes it upon himself to train her to become a better and more efficient killer. What Annwyl doesn't know is that the knight she is training with is actually Fearghus in human form.
The attraction between the knight and Annwyl is immediate and intense. Annwyl feels that she is betraying Fearghus in the act of liking the knight. Morfyd, Fearghus's sister, is a dragon witch in human form and she takes it upon herself to see the two together when she realises the attraction between the two is mutual.
She convinces the two to tell the other the truth. Annwyl that she likes the knight and Fearghus that he is the knight. But before either can tell the other how they feel about the other things get messed up and Fearghus's father tells Annwyl (in a not very subtle way) that Fearghus can shape shift into a human.
In a rage Annwyl leaves Fearghus so that she won't kill him in her anger and goes to her army. Fearghus comes after her, scares the hell out of her men and troops, and shifts to human form to confront her. After some yelling he admits that he was going to tell her that day but that his father beat him to it. When she refuses to forgive him he takes it upon himself to 'persuade' her to forgive him. After some hot lovin' he finally gets her to forgive him and admits that she loves him just as he loves her.
Then sometime later she succeeds in killing her brother and after the war is over and the celebrating is still going on Fearghus 'Claims' her. He brands he with his mark so that other dragons will know who she belongs to. But in the morning he's gone. Left her alone to deal with her people.
After a year of not seeing each other, Rihannon, Fearghus's mother, comes to Garbhan Isle to demand why Annwyl isn't with her mate. After a short discussion Annwyl goes after her dragon and they live happily ever after. :3 Talk about funny. It was a great book with alot of twists and turns and I loved every minute of it. Truthfully I had a hard time putting it down. Five out of Five stars.
