While I want to try and review books on my own it may not work out and my postings may be random but I'm going to try! Wish me luck.

As you know
I haven't blogged much. I've been meaning to but working on my novel (still working on a title) I haven't had the time to blog about the most recent books I've been reading but I can tell you what books I'm looking forward to reading soon. I have quite a list so I will narrow it down to about five books, each from one different author. Now I'm not naming these in any specific order like by my favorite author or which book I want to read the most. These are just the top five books I want to read by five of my favorite authors.
1) Night Reigns by Dianne Duvall
Release date is Dec 6
2) Pack Challenge by Shelley Laurenston (aka G.A. Aiken)
3) Alterant by Sherrilyn Kenyon
4) Riding the Storm by Sydney Croft (aka Larissa Ione)
and last but not least
5) Embrace the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy
This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are soooo many books I'm looking forward to reading and half of them aren't even out yet! I can't wait to get a chance to read all of these and when I do rest assured that I will immediately blog about them the moment I've finished them!

Dragon Actually by G.A. Aiken
I absolutely loved this book. I got addicted to this series by first reading Dragon on Top in the anthology Supernatural. Annwyl the Bloody (I love that name it makes me smile every time I read it) and Fearghus the Destroyer meet when Annwyl is under attack by her evil brothers minions outside Fearghus's caves. One of the soldiers mortally wounds Annwyl and as she's dying Fearghus takes a liking to her and saves her life.
When she confides in the dragon that she doesn't think she has the skill to kill her brother, The Butcher of Garbhan Isle, the dragon takes it upon himself to train her to become a better and more efficient killer. What Annwyl doesn't know is that the knight she is training with is actually Fearghus in human form.
The attraction between the knight and Annwyl is immediate and intense. Annwyl feels that she is betraying Fearghus in the act of liking the knight. Morfyd, Fearghus's sister, is a dragon witch in human form and she takes it upon herself to see the two together when she realises the attraction between the two is mutual.
She convinces the two to tell the other the truth. Annwyl that she likes the knight and Fearghus that he is the knight. But before either can tell the other how they feel about the other things get messed up and Fearghus's father tells Annwyl (in a not very subtle way) that Fearghus can shape shift into a human.
In a rage Annwyl leaves Fearghus so that she won't kill him in her anger and goes to her army. Fearghus comes after her, scares the hell out of her men and troops, and shifts to human form to confront her. After some yelling he admits that he was going to tell her that day but that his father beat him to it. When she refuses to forgive him he takes it upon himself to 'persuade' her to forgive him. After some hot lovin' he finally gets her to forgive him and admits that she loves him just as he loves her.
Then sometime later she succeeds in killing her brother and after the war is over and the celebrating is still going on Fearghus 'Claims' her. He brands he with his mark so that other dragons will know who she belongs to. But in the morning he's gone. Left her alone to deal with her people.
After a year of not seeing each other, Rihannon, Fearghus's mother, comes to Garbhan Isle to demand why Annwyl isn't with her mate. After a short discussion Annwyl goes after her dragon and they live happily ever after. :3 Talk about funny. It was a great book with alot of twists and turns and I loved every minute of it. Truthfully I had a hard time putting it down. Five out of Five stars.

Finding the Lost by Shannon K. Butcher and my opinion of it.
Let me tell you I was mildly surprised. I'd previously read two of her earlier books, Burning Alive and The Collector (short story in the anthology On the Hunt), and though I liked The Collector I disliked Burning Alive. So when I got this one I was kind of expecting it to suck. Wrong of me to judge it by not even reading it first but when I normally read a book by the same author, that I don't like, I normally do not like their other books. There was just some element in Burning Alive that I didn't like at all but when reading Finding the Lost I was intrigued and wanted to keep on reading.
The struggle between the main characters drew me in like a bee to honey. I just couldn't resist the drama. Andra is a strong independent woman and only wants to save her sister, Nika. She is determined to do anything to save her and in the process ends up trying to use Paul for her benefit to save her sister. While Paul himself is using her to try and save himself. Paul is trying to get Andra to bond with him for eternity so he will no longer have to deal with his pain and even though that is one of his problems he also cares for her deeply and wants to protect her.
Now I really want to know what happens between Nika and Madoc, Paul's friend. Nika, who was attacked by synestryn (dog-like demons) when she was young, has gone insane from the attack. Or has she? Anyhoo Madoc (who has an angry-hate-filled-bad-boy thing going on) gets angry at Andra for not being able to take care of her sister properly (which she is he's just in a piss poor mood and taking it out on everyone around him) and starts to take care of Nika himself. He gets her to eat and take a bath and to sleep.
The blooming relationship between the two is one I can't wait to read. But I digress. Finding the Lost is a very intriguing book and the characters are written very well and the complexity of the series is amazing. All in all I'd give the book four out of five stars. It's a great read and, even though I am not a big fan of the first book, you should read Burning Alive first and then Finding the Lost.
